Snakes are life, vitality, strength, health. It is a very strong desire for health and strength to exude life as from an inexhaustible source.
One of the best survived examples of tablet woven wool belt is an ornamented strip from the 10th to the 11th century found in the Paragaudis grave. Its ornamentation is also typical of the 19th century Suwalki and Dzuk bands. Archaeological material shows that the main principles of ribbon patterns, decoration, and types of ornaments were formed in the 4th-13th centuries.
